The Greenville Kennel Club (GKC) was founded on September 1, 1939. The club was one of the first in South Carolina. GKC was also one of the first to offer obedience competition at their show. GKC has been hosting shows for over 40 years.

Purpose

The purpose of the Greenville Kennel Club is:

  • To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.
  • To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials.
  • To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
